The Dining Room Challenge

Episode_6_season2_1

This Friday on Win a Home - The Design Edition, the competing design teams are tasked with decorating their dining rooms. It’s a race against time as they’ve got just two days to complete their task and meagre budget of R20 000. This particularly thrilling episode really brings the drama as tempers flare and best friends end up turning on each other!

Adding to the contestant’s pressure this week is their individual challenge. Designers must find, buy or create a decorative ornament that will fit at the centre of their dining room tables.
Winners of the solo challenge in each team are safe from elimination. However, this means that the individual winner of the loosing team gets to choose which team member to eliminate.

The team’s mentors, Durban-based interior design experts Grant Webster, Ntokozo Ntuli and Schane Anderson have their hands full with trying to guide the contestants towards design excellence. It’s a difficult task and two of the mentors lose their tempers in the process. Tensions increase in this episode as the designers and mentors quarrel over time as well as which furniture, paint and household items are best to buy.

This week's guest judge is Buzwe Mabuza, the owner of his own interior design company in Johannesburg. He lends his time, experience and sound opinions to the panel shared by industry experts Simon Bray, the CEO of Private Property, and Anne Roselt, Plascon’s colour expert.

The drama comes to a head as a contestant from the losing team gets eliminated by a team member who's also their friend. A stab in the back for one, but a move that has to be made for another. Which team is going to win? Who’s going to be safe from elimination? Who’s going to go home?

Be sure to tune in to watch this cut-throat episode full of all the twists, drama, conflict and suspense that make Win a Home - The Design Edition the country’s best interior décor reality TV show.
